Please welcome The Reverend Dr. Elizabeth Stein this morning – The Reverend Dr. Stein will be Hope Episcopal's guest preacher and Eucharistic celebrant today. Our Rev. Mother Martha+ will be performing the same services at Messiah Lutheran in Cypress, where The Rev. Dr. Stein is the interim pastor, as part of the pulpit exchange program sponsored by the local organization Clergy for Mutual Respect. Kidz Zone today with Kathryn Harriss! – The kids (through 4th grade) will meet at the back of the church, participating in the service in a kid-friendly and exciting way. The kids will sing along to hymns (playing instruments), participate in the Prayers of the People (through pictures that will be fun and tangible to them), and have a quiet program geared to go along with the church calendar (including arts and crafts). Volunteers are needed to make this program a success. Please contact Elizabeth Dowell at 832-462-3228 for more information.

Young Adults' Book Study Group – Wednesday Evenings 7:00 pm – Calling all young adults! Who among us has never wondered if there might not really be a tempter sitting on our shoulders or dogging our steps? C. S. Lewis dispels all doubts. In The Screwtape Letters, one of his bestselling works, we are made privy to the instructional correspondence between a senior demon, Screwtape, and his wannabe diabolical nephew Wormwood. Come on Wednesday nights this summer to study and discuss Lewis' novel. This group will meet at Elizabeth Dowell's house on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm. The house is in Jersey Village (44 Parkway Place) close to 290 and Jones Road. Contact Elizabeth Dowell at 832-462-3228 for more information.
Summer Reading Groups Begin This Week! – A daytime and an evening offering of four weekly sessions of book study groups will be offered this summer. The book we will be reading is same kind of different As Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore with Lynn Vincent.
This compelling book tells a true story of two very different men—an upscale art dealer in Ft. Worth and a dangerous homeless drifter—brought together by the urging and prayers of a faithful woman called by God to make a difference. Denver Moore grew up on a Louisiana cotton farm virtually enslaved by the system, spent several years in Angola State Prison, and by the time he established himself on the streets of Ft. Worth, was feared and avoided by most. Had Ron Hall not been making an effort to strengthen his faltering marriage by participating in his wife's outreach endeavor at a downtown mission, the two men might never have met. Today, they appear together to tell the amazing story of God's work in their lives. Copies may be ordered on Amazon.com, Alibris.com or Half.com. Barnes & Noble, Waldenbooks and Borders also have copies available in local stores, however it is a good idea to reserve one online or by phone before you go.
Evening sessions will follow the 6:30 Wednesday evening Eucharist at about 7:15 in the Parish Hall on June 24 and July 1, 8 and 15. Noonday sessions will meet Thursdays at 12:00 at Susan Gavin's house 839 Lamonte Lane on June 25, July 2, 9 and 16.
To register, please call the church office at 713-681-6422 or at mfranceswork@yahoo.com.
"Why don't we ever sing _________(my favorite hymn)?" – Now is your chance to list hymns you would like to sing during the summer months. Give the correct book and page number if you know it, but if your favorite doesn't appear in the hymnals in our pews, list it anyway. We may be able to find it.
